The Role

Join our dynamic transportation team as a Full-Time Shuttle Driver with a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL). In this energetic role, you'll be the friendly face behind the wheel, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient shuttle services for our valued passengers. Your expertise in vehicle operation, customer service, and adherence to safety regulations will keep our operations running smoothly and passengers satisfied. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a company that values safety, professionalism, and exceptional service.

We're looking for outstanding Professional Drivers to shuttle clients in high-end transit buses within a short distance throughout the day. This is an easy gig, offering a predictable schedule and being home in time for dinner every night. We have an award-winning fleet, love what we do, and we drive what we love!

The Pay

$390/Day, flat — the highest motorcoach wages in Oregon. A shift runs up to thirteen hours, and a shorter one still pays the full $390.

What comes with it:

Sick leave
accrued as you work
Referral program
know another driver who'd fit? It's open to you

We're also filling one part-time float seat, covering shifts as needed, same rate — say so in your application if that's the one you want. And if you'd take Saturday shifts when we add them, tell us in your application and we'll keep you on the list.

What Your Week Looks Like

The start and finish times change from week to week, so we're not publishing a fixed window here — but here's what actually holds, and what moves.

What you can count on:

  • Five shifts, Monday to Friday
  • $390/Day for every shift, however long it turns out to run
  • Home every night — no overnight travel in this seat at all
  • The same bus, on the same short run, in The Dalles

What moves around:

  • When your shift starts and finishes
  • How long it runs, up to thirteen hours — a short one still pays the full $390
  • Saturdays — not scheduled yet, but expected; say so on your application if you'd want them

The Equipment

One bus for this run: a New Flyer D40LF. Forty feet, two doors, low floor, built between 2005 and 2008.

Model
New Flyer D40LF
Build years
2005–2008
Length
40 feet
Doors
Two, front and rear
Floor
Low, kerb-height entry

If you're coming off a motorcoach or an over-the-road truck, the differences are the floor and the doors. There's no luggage bay to load and no stairwell to hand people down — passengers board at the front at kerb height, step off at the rear door, and wheelchair access is a ramp rather than a lift. It's the same bus every shift, on the same short run, so you'll know it well inside a week.

What You Need To Apply

  • Valid CDL, Class B or higher, with a passenger endorsement
  • A current DOT medical card
  • Two years driving large commercial vehicles — motorcoach, school bus, or over-the-road trucking all count (captained a NASA rocket or the Space Shuttle instead? We'd be thrilled to hear about it)
  • A clean driving record — no pattern of collisions, and you keep to the speed limit
  • Able to pass a post-offer drug screen (includes marijuana, random screening as required — a DOT rule) and background check

What Makes a Candidate Stand Out

None of the above is on a checklist, and all of it is why we hire one driver over another.

  • You show up, every shift, on time
  • You're good with people — you're the first face passengers see, so a customer service background goes a long way
  • You take care of the equipment, and you're patient with passengers — this isn't WWE SmackDown or bumper cars
  • You're clean, tidy, and professional
  • You follow DOT, FMCSA, and company rules as a matter of course

About NW Navigator

NW Navigator Luxury Coaches has run out of Portland since 2008, and has grown every year since. In 2025 we made the Inc. 5000 on 91% revenue growth over three years, and we were the first motorcoach company on the West Coast to earn Green Certification. We're a member of the International Motorcoach Group.

This seat is local to The Dalles — short shuttle runs, five shifts a week, and you drive home from every one of them. The wider company charters across eleven western states and Canada, so if you ever want that kind of work later, the road is there. It just isn't this job.
